Did you know that 90% of people aged 8-16 have already been exposed to pxrn?
Yep, and according to ChurchMag, the largest consumers of pxrn are boys aged 12-17.
Pretty crazy for an industry who claims to be 18+, right?
Let that sink in for a moment.
As a parent, mentor, or future role model, have you ever asked yourself:
What kind of relationship do I want my kids (or future kids) to have with pxrn?
Here’s the hard truth:
They WILL encounter it.
In today's hyper-connected world, it's almost unavoidable. It will either be due to curiosity, peer pressure, or easy access.
The real question isn’t if they’ll watch it. The question is:
What kind of relationship will they have with it?
- Shame?
- A coping mechanism?
- An escape from reality?
- A source of fleeting pleasure?
- Curiosity?
Here's the truth:
People don’t do what you tell them to do. They do what you do.
This is why it's called leading by example, and it's even more accurate when it comes to children.
If you still feel shame about your history with pxrn, guess what? They’ll pick up on that and feel ashamed too.
If you normalize it, they’ll normalize it.
But, if you treat it as just a neutral coping tool, that's irrelevant compared to things like meditation, prayer, and self-growth, they'll learn to see it the same way.
Your relationship with pxrn will be transmitted to them, whether you intend it or not.
The inner work we do today is bigger than us.
So, the question we should ask ourselves is:
What kind of legacy do we want to leave behind?
